TextEN | The Neptune class of 98 gun second rate ships was designed by Sir John Henslow in 1788 and comprised three ships: HMS Temeraire launched in 1793, HMS Neptune in 1797 and HMS Dreadnaught in 1801. All three of the Neptune class fought at Trafalgar with HMS Temeraire being the most famous for her support of Nelson’s Victory in the fight with the Redoubtable. | |
