TextEN | The Santisima Trinidad was designed and built by Mathew Mullens, an Irish shipwright working in the dockyard at Havana. She was launched in 1769 as a 112 gun first rate ship but her armament was increased over the years to 120 guns. In 1795 this was increased to 130 guns. Often called the biggest ship in the world, she was badly damaged at St Vincent and taken at Trafalgar but scuttled and sank in the storm that followed. | |
