TextENThe San Ildsefonso class of 74' 3rd rates were excellent ships but prone to heavy pitching. Retamosa, in 1794 slightly modified the underwater lines and produced the Montanes class of which Monarca was the second of the 13 ships built for the Spanish navy. Monarca was launched in 1794 and was captured at Trafalgar but lost in the storm later.
