TextEN | The Karyu was an internal development of Nakajima in early 1945. While the not very powerful Kikka was not very similar to the German Me262 , the Karyu had much more in common with the Me 262. The development was so advanced, that it got the official army air force designation Ki-201. Anyhow the army lost it's interest after the decision to use the Ki-200/Ki-202 (Versions of the J8M Shusui) as the future standard fighter. Therefore Nakajima offered the Karyu to the Navy Air Foce - also without success. The maiden flight was planned for end of 1945. The resin kit has nice structures, but did not fit together at all. The fitting between body and wings had to be completely build with Magic Sculp. This section is not 100% like the original, but is a quite good compromise. (1439)(242)(243) | |
